Websites that do a job, and that you can edit.

Maybe your site is a template you can't change without logging into something you've forgotten the password to. Maybe it looks fine but can't take a booking, a quote request or a payment. Maybe it's just slow.

I design and build sites for one specific business, then hand you the keys to edit it.

What you get

  • A design made for your business, not a theme with your logo dropped in.
  • Content you can edit yourself: text, prices, hours, photos, new pages.
  • Built for phones first, since that's where a lot of your visitors will be.
  • The on-page SEO basics: page titles, descriptions, structured data, a sitemap. Done properly, not promised as rankings.
  • Fast load times on ordinary hosting. No bloated page builder underneath.
  • Forms that actually reach you, with spam protection and a sensible thank-you page.
  • Accessibility basics: readable contrast, keyboard navigation, alt text, real headings.
  • A short "how to edit your site" walkthrough, recorded or written, your choice.

What I'll need from you

Your logo and brand files, or I'll make a simple temporary one you can replace later. The facts: what you sell, where, for how much, and when you're open. Photos, or a small budget for them. One person who can make decisions. About an hour a week for feedback while the site's being built.

What I'd build it with, and why

Usually a fast static site (React, built ahead of time) with forms handled by a little PHP on your own hosting. If you'll be editing a lot yourself, every week, WordPress can be the better call, and I'll say so. Payments go through Stripe Checkout, so card numbers never touch the code I write. Bookings go through Cal.com, Calendly or a custom quote form, depending on how you schedule.

The reason is boring on purpose: it's cheap to host, quick to load, and any decent developer can pick it up after me.

Do you need a developer at all?

Honestly, maybe not. If you need five pages, a contact form and a map, Squarespace or Wix will do that for a monthly fee, and you can set it up over a weekend.

It's worth paying someone when the site has to do real work: quotes with your own pricing logic, bookings that check against your actual schedule, a shop that talks to your inventory, or simply speed and search results you can't get out of a template.

Website questions

Can I edit it myself?
Yes. That's the point. You'll be able to change text, prices, hours and photos, and add pages, without touching code. I'll show you how before launch.
Do you write the copy?
I'll edit and structure what you give me, and I'll draft short sections when they're missing. If you want every page written from scratch, I'll quote it as a separate line or point you to a copywriter.
Will it rank on Google?
I build it so search engines can read it properly: clean structure, titles, descriptions, speed, a sitemap. Rankings depend on your competition, your content and time, so I won't promise any position.
Can you redo my existing site?
Yes. I'll look at what's worth keeping (content, URLs that already get traffic) and set up redirects so old links still work.
Do you do hosting?
I set hosting up on a provider that suits the site, and you pay them directly. If you'd like me to keep an eye on it afterwards, that's what care plans are for.

A sample of the kind of site I build

The screen beside this text is a sample of the kind of small-business site and editor I build. The work page has three system samples if you want to see how I think about bigger builds.
